Age Limit
Maximum Age During Extension In case the contract is extended, the consultant’s age must not exceed 55 years.

Remuneration & Allowances
As per DoPT OM F. No. 3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 9 December 2020, selected consultants will receive a fixed monthly remuneration, calculated by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. The fixed remuneration will remain unchanged throughout the contract period, and no annual increment or percentage-based increase will be applicable during the engagement.
Allowances
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): HRA will not be admissible to the consultant.
- Transport Allowance: A fixed transport allowance will be provided for commuting between the consultant’s residence and place of work. The amount will not exceed the rate applicable to the consultant at the time of retirement and will remain unchanged throughout the engagement.
- TA/DA: Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance (TA/DA) for official tours, wherever applicable, will be provided as per the consultant’s entitlement at the time of retirement.
- TDS: Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) will be deducted from the monthly remuneration as per applicable rules.
AAI SSCO Consultant Engagement 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for the AAI SSCO Consultant Recruitment 2026 does not include any written examination. Eligible candidates who are shortlisted will be called for Application Verification, followed by an Interview.
- No Written Examination: There will be no written test as part of the selection process.
- Application Verification & Interview: Shortlisted candidates will first undergo application verification and will then appear for the interview.
- Final Selection: Selection will be made based on the merit ranking obtained in the interview.

AAI SSCO Consultant Recruitment 2026 – Important Conditions
Period of Engagement
- The initial engagement will be for 1 year, which may be extended by another year at a time, subject to applicable conditions.
- The maximum cumulative period of engagement is 5 years. Any extension will not be permitted beyond the consultant attaining 55 years of age.
- The engagement will be full-time, and consultants will not be allowed to undertake any other assignment during the contract period.
- A formal Contract/Agreement containing the applicable terms and conditions will be executed between AAI and the selected consultant.
Charter of Duties
The selected consultants will assist and support Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations at the concerned Joint User Defence Airfield. Their duties may include ATC/SMC operations, watch extension, and other ATC-related activities assigned by the ATS In-Charge.
Leave Provisions
- Consultants will be entitled to 1.5 days of leave for each completed month of service.
- Daily attendance must be marked at the designated place of reporting/engagement.
- Unused leave during a calendar year will neither be carried forward nor encashed.
- Absence beyond the admissible leave and notified holidays will result in a proportionate deduction from the consultancy remuneration.
- AAI may terminate the engagement if a consultant remains absent without informing the supervisory authority for more than 3 working days.
Other Conditions
- AAI will not be responsible for any compensation in case of death, injury, or illness of the consultant attributable to the performance of services under the contract.
- Submission of false or insufficient information, or failure to provide adequate proof of eligibility, may result in rejection of the candidature at any stage, along with appropriate action as deemed fit.
- If a large number of applications are received, AAI reserves the right to raise the eligibility criteria. AAI may also cancel, modify, withdraw, or postpone the engagement notice.
- AAI may terminate the consultant’s engagement by providing 1 month’s notice or remuneration/fees in lieu of the notice period.
- Similarly, a consultant may request termination of the engagement by providing AAI with <strong>1 month’s notice or remuneration/fees in lieu.
- The decision of AAI Management shall be final in matters relating to the engagement.
