About BPSC
Bihar Public Service Commission भारत के प्रमुख संवैधानिक भर्ती आयोगों में से एक है, जिसकी स्थापना 1 अप्रैल 1949 को Government of India Act, 1935 के अंतर्गत की गई थी। बाद में 26 जनवरी 1950 को भारतीय संविधान लागू होने के साथ ही BPSC को Article 315 के तहत संवैधानिक दर्जा प्राप्त हुआ। आयोग का मुख्य उद्देश्य बिहार राज्य के विभिन्न सरकारी विभागों एवं प्रशासनिक सेवाओं के लिए निष्पक्ष, पारदर्शी और merit-based recruitment process आयोजित करना है।
शुरुआती समय में आयोग का मुख्यालय Ranchi में स्थित था, लेकिन बाद में इसे 1 मार्च 1951 को Patna स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया। BPSC के पहले Chairman Shri Rajandhari Sinha थे, जबकि Shri Radha Krishna Choudhary आयोग के प्रथम Secretary रहे।
